What I will say is what an amazing room to ride loops. The architecture and materials reflect the feeling of riding a velodrome perfectly. Grand, internal, unimportant, important, natural and artificial.

For those who have not had the privilege of riding a track, I can describe it best like this: You feel very free, but confined. The wood is natural, but in an unreal state. The facility itself is huge, but you are very small. The feeling you get the first time you rise above the flood line is amazing, but you want more, to feel the force pushing you into and out of the corners.

I had the chance to ride a full size outdoor teak track in Koln, Germany last year, and it was one of the most memorable events of my life. I recommend it to everyone, get on one before they are all gone. Congrats to Nick for beating me at the 200m sprint.

Bikes on Wheels and Mike Giant have teamed up with Leader bikes to produce some custom pieces of bike art.

These frames are going to be on display for the Bicycle Film Festival at Mascot, 1267 Queen st.W in Parkdale from August 18, before being auctioned off for charity.

The Nature Boy is our single speed cross racing monster.  It was named after a Minnesota professional wrestling legend and carries all of the AC hallmarks that you’ve come to love: straight blade fork, classic paint, custom dropouts, and signature headbadge.  It was designed primarily as a race rig, but since we knew that many of you out there would be using this thing for every day life, we built in additional features to make it more versatile.
You’ll find hidden fender mounts, two sets of bottle bosses (reinforced of course), removeable canti studs, fat tire clearance, and a steel fork that is easily swapped for a carbon model should you want to lighten up for race season.
Race the crap out of it, ride singletrack, gravel, or commute until your heart’s content.

We now have the 2010 the Jamis Beatnik Fixed Gear bike.

The Beatnik uses Reynolds steel, for pothole-striking durability and the snappy, blistering response you need to power through those pesky yellow lights. They have street-wise geometry, matching track-racing’s pedal-through-corners high bottom brackets with aggressively steep criterium-style angles to shoot traffic gaps
and thread through road debris.
